Northwest Fire District is a public safety organization serving the northwest metropolitan area of Tucson, Arizona. It was formed in 1983 to provide reliable, high-quality emergency services at a reasonable cost. The district covers 140 square miles and serves roughly 110,000 residents and 3,300 commercial occupancies, supported by ten stations that operate around the clock with a team of responders including paramedics or emergency medical technicians. Based in the Tucson region, the district maintains a strong paramedic-to-resident ratio, with about one paramedic for every 9,000 residents. In a recent development, NWFDAZ partnered with Standard Solar to install a 657 kW solar carport system across 12 parking lots, delivering more than 1.23 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually and offsetting emissions equivalent to 185,000 vehicles.
