Nourish California operates as a statewide public policy and advocacy organization focused on improving the health and well-being of low-income Californians by expanding access to nutritious and affordable food. Based in Oakland, California, it maintains a small team dedicated to policy work that influences food access across the state. The organization has a long history, having operated for nearly thirty years under the former name California Food Policy Advocates.

In 2023, Nourish California partnered with SPUR to co-lead a coalition aimed at extending the California Fruit and Vegetable EBT Pilot program, an effort to reduce hunger, improve health, and support the agricultural economy. This places the group within California's public policy and nutrition advocacy landscape.
