NSF NOIRLab serves as the United States national center for ground-based, nighttime optical and infrared astronomy. Based in Tucson, Arizona, the organization employs a few hundred people and operates at the forefront of its field. Its mission is to enable breakthrough discoveries in astrophysics by developing and operating observatories and delivering data products and services to a diverse and inclusive scientific community. In late 2024, NOIRLab launched the 88 Constellations project, a collection of free, high-resolution images of every constellation that are available for download.
