NTT Research is a Silicon Valley–based organization established in 2019 to pursue fundamental research in physics, cryptography, and medical informatics. It houses three core laboratories: the Physics & Informatics Lab, the Cryptography & Information Security Lab, and the Medical & Health Informatics Lab. The Physics & Informatics Lab seeks practical solvers for information‑heavy real‑world problems, exploring computation through the lens of quantum physics and brain science while also pursuing hardware development. The Cryptography & Information Security Lab focuses on foundational cryptographic research aimed at advancing secure computing and generating long‑term breakthroughs. The Medical & Health Informatics Lab conducts research toward more personalized, preventive, predictive, and participatory medicine, including Bio Digital Twin technologies, with initial efforts on a cardiovascular digital twin and an in vitro Heart‑on‑a‑Chip platform.
