Nubis Communications is a semiconductor company focused on optical interconnects that prioritize density and power efficiency. The cornerstone XT1600 optical engine delivers 1.6 Tb/s full-duplex capacity and is designed to interface directly with host ASIC SerDes intended for copper links. The device integrates 16 transmit and 16 receive fibers at 100G each and can be configured to support aggregated system port speeds such as Ethernet 400G-DR4 or 800G-DR8. This configuration aims to provide scalable interconnect options for high-performance data-center and AI workloads, aligning optical capacity with existing copper-based interfaces.

Nubis is based in New Providence, New Jersey, and operates in the semiconductor manufacturing sector with a small-to-mid-sized team. In September 2025, industry press reported that Ciena planned to acquire Nubis, and later coverage indicated that the acquisition had taken place.
