NumbersAlive! is a nonprofit organization focused on reducing math anxiety and improving numeracy by making mathematics meaningful and relevant to learners. Through its Foundation, the group uses characters, plush toys, puppets, and animations to engage students of all ages, encouraging them to explore numerical concepts in contexts tied to their own interests and environments. The program combines learning tools, such as books and games, with out-of-school activities that leverage the arts and real-world adventures to support STEM understanding and the development of scientific reasoning. Based in the Washington, DC area, NumbersAlive! operates with a small team and centers its educational approach on student voice and inquiry, guided by founder Dr. Rebecca Klemm, known as The Numbers Lady. A recent development includes formal recognition as an approved public charity, NumbersAlive! Foundation, in February 2021.
