NFN is dedicated to establishing a safety net for the most vulnerable families, with a paramount goal of preventing infant mortality, child abuse, and neglect. Our core approach involves conducting in-home nursing visits, which not only foster healthcare awareness but also empower parents with valuable education and positive parenting skills. Our preventive home visitation program is staffed by registered nurses who specialize in serving high-risk families. These families may include medically fragile infants, such as those born prematurely, exposed to drugs (NAS), or facing challenges related to failure to thrive, congenital anomalies, or birth complications. We also extend our support to mothers confronting medical, mental health, or substance abuse issues, as well as teenage parents navigating particularly challenging circumstances. In addition, our licensed social workers provide counseling and resource services to our client families. Complementing our in-home nursing services, we strive to assist our clients with essential donated resources, including diapers, formula, baby food, clothing, bedding, and portable cribs, all crucial for safe child care. We warmly invite volunteers from the local community and businesses in the Nashville area to join us in coordinating and facilitating these vital efforts. NFN's reach currently spans across eight counties encompassing Middle Tennessee: Cheatham, Davidson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, and Williamson.
