Nurture Nature Center (NNC) is a mid-Atlantic regional museum and education nonprofit focused on local environmental risks, with a mission to foster community dialogue and resilient decision-making around environmental challenges. Located in Easton, Pennsylvania, the center engages residents and local decision-makers through a combination of art and science exhibits, forum programs, nature journaling, and other educational events, highlighting flood risks and extreme weather as core areas of work. Its programs draw on a model for community dialogue and aim to improve public understanding of risks while supporting environmentally sound actions at the local level. The organization has developed partnerships and initiatives, including a prominent flood-focused public education campaign and a project with FEMA and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection related to coastal flood mapping, as well as leading social science research projects to enhance communication about flood risks. In addition, NNC hosts regional efforts like Lehigh Valley’s Buy Fresh Buy Local, supporting local food systems and environmental stewardship.
