NVPI is the Netherlands’ trade association for the film and music industries, bringing together record companies and film distributors active in theatrical and home entertainment. It operates as the umbrella for two groups—NVPI Muziek for the music sector and NVPI Film for film distribution and home entertainment. The organization represents a large share of its industries, with around 90% of turnover and 90% of member companies, and it aims to secure a favorable policy and media environment while offering member services at reduced rates. Founded in 1976 and based in Amsterdam, North Holland, NVPI maintains international affiliations with IFPI for music and with IVF and FIAD for film. Its core function is to provide representation in government, the press, and other consultative bodies and to support its members through those channels. As a mid-sized association, it serves as the voice and coordinating body for the Dutch film and music industries.
