NYCEEC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit mission-driven lender that finances energy efficiency and clean energy projects through debt financing. NYCEEC’s mission is to deliver financing solutions and advance markets for energy efficiency and clean energy in communities. NYCEEC’s vision is energy efficiency and clean energy financing for communities to achieve scale and be accessible to all. Launched in 2010 by the New York City Mayor's Office, NYCEEC has since expanded its geographical reach throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We have experience lending across the country, and we work with all building types across all neighborhoods. We focus on high-impact projects, such as those in disadvantaged or low-income communities, and we finance a range of technologies, including electrification, solar + storage, EV-charging infrastructure, and efficiency measures. NYCEEC’s loans help communities invest in energy efficiency and clean energy to save money, reduce energy consumption, and build healthy communities. Through sourcing funds from the public, private, and philanthropic sectors, NYCEEC is able to amplify the impact of our transformative market-based lending strategy, overcome barriers, and scale investment. NYCEEC partners with financial institutions like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan Chase to build impact financing markets within the private sector. We source additional funds through partnerships with CDFIs, affordable housing agencies, and philanthropies such as The Rockefeller Foundation and The Kresge Foundation. Together with lending institutions, nonprofits, and philanthropies, NYCEEC is working to solve the challenge of climate change. NYCEEC is not an agency or unit of the City of New York, New York State, or any governmental body.
