Oak Grove School District is a public education district serving TK-8 in the southeastern corner of San Jose, California, bounded by Capitol Expressway to the north, Canoas Creek to the west, Bernal Road to the south, and the foothills to the east. The district comprises 17 schools, including 14 elementary schools and 3 intermediate schools, with total enrollment of about 9,700 students. The student population is diverse: about 49% Hispanic, 24% Asian or Pacific Islander, 19% white (non-Hispanic), 4% African American, and 6% other; 29% are English Learners representing 60 languages spoken. Forty-four percent of students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch, and 10% receive special education services. The district employs approximately 501 to 1,000 people, and in 2019 it received the Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association for SEAL program implementation.
