ODC/Dance is a San Francisco-based performing arts organization that operates a contemporary dance company, a presenting theater and digital platform, and a dance school for movers of all ages and abilities. Guided by Founding Artistic Director Brenda Way, it pursues an integrated program of performance, training, and mentorship aimed at artistic innovation, audience development, and community engagement. The organization runs a two-building campus—the Dance Commons and the ODC Theater—in San Francisco’s Mission District and maintains a digital program for classes, performances, and dialogue.

For half a century, ODC’s work has contributed to community development and arts education, expanding access to creative art-making. Its health initiatives include a fee-free diagnostic and educational Healthy Dancers’ Clinic, plus a fitness program for all levels and abilities. Recent developments include partnerships in 2022 with the Sam Mazza Foundation to offer 30 hours of free studio space to emerging dance artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, people of color and/or LGBTQ+, and with Rhythmix Cultural Works for Island City Waterways.
