Old City District is a small nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1998 by ordinance of Philadelphia City Council, with support from commercial property owners and under Pennsylvania’s Municipality Authorities Act, later authorized for a 20-year extension through 2022. The district supplements municipal services by providing maintenance, public safety, economic development and promotional programs, with the aim of making the historic district a place where people meet, work, shop and live. It operates to support businesses, visitors and residents by coordinating services that enhance quality of life without replacing city functions.

Located in Old City, the district sits within an area noted for a concentration of U.S. historic assets, including Independence National Historical Park, which attracts about 3.6 million visitors annually. The neighborhood offers hotels, dining and nightlife, independent retailers and a mix of employers ranging from major institutions to solo entrepreneurs, with roughly 8,000 residents living in historic townhouses and other housing. Old City District serves its customers—businesses, visitors and residents—by managing programs and services that promote safety, maintenance and economic and cultural activity in the district. In 2022, the organization was recognized as America's Most Historic Square Mile.
