Old Town Merchants & Residents Association is a civic and social organization focused on promoting Chicago's historic Old Town neighborhood and the people who support it. The district is known for its eclectic dining, shops, and notable theatre venues such as Zanies, A Red Orchid Theatre, and Second City. Guided by a board of directors, the association develops marketing materials, advertising, social media campaigns and events to raise the neighborhood's profile. Its primary event, the Wells Street Art Festival, features more than 250 artists and designers and draws about 40,000 attendees over two days. In addition to promotional activity, OTMRA acts as a liaison for small businesses, offering information and assistance to merchants and to the City of Chicago, and it conducts beautification work such as street cleaning, power washing, planting and way-finding. The organization is based in Chicago.
