Olney Friends School is a boarding and day high school in Barnesville, Ohio, founded in 1837 by the Ohio Yearly Meeting of Friends. It emphasizes Quaker values: consensus, integrity, and cooperative conflict resolution—while prioritizing diversity across ethnicity, race, religion, LGBTQIA+, and socio-economic backgrounds, with students participating in dormitory decision-making and in shaping academic offerings. The campus comprises about 350 acres of USDA-certified organic farmland near Barnesville, enabling hands-on environmental science within an agricultural region and providing food for the community as well as educational opportunities for students. The curriculum combines core college-preparatory material with options for deeper study at an individualized pace, supported by a small-school environment that includes international students. Olney is accredited by ISACS and is a member of NAIS and the Friends Council on Education, and in May 2025 the school celebrated its 187th commencement and alumni weekend.
