Open Arms Perinatal Services is a Seattle-based nonprofit in the field of individual and family services that supports pregnant people and their families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. The organization provides doula services and lactation peer support, complemented by home visits starting during pregnancy, attendance at the birth, and ongoing follow-up. It also offers referrals and early parenting education extending up to two years after birth, and it deploys trained counselors for lactation support through home visits. The program emphasizes connecting clients with caregivers from their own communities when possible and operates in nine languages. Each year it serves around 500 families in the Puget Sound area, with a focus on low-income households. Founded in 1997, the nonprofit has expanded its offerings to include initiatives like a Community Education and Engagement program launched in 2023.
