Open Space Institute is a New York City–based nonprofit focused on land conservation and expanding access to protected lands across the eastern United States and Canada. Since 1974, OSI has partnered to protect more than 2.5 million acres of at-risk and environmentally sensitive land. Its work supports cleaner air and water, expanded opportunities for recreation, wildlife habitat, and resilient communities in the face of extreme weather and flooding. As a mid-sized organization, OSI collaborates with public agencies, regional conservation groups, and local municipalities to steward landscapes and connect people with outdoor spaces. A recent development includes a partnership with the Town of Warwick to conserve more than 300 acres surrounding the Warwick Conference Center, expanding public access and protecting critical water resources.
