Openbaar Ministerie is the Netherlands' public prosecution service, the sole authority empowered to bring suspects before the criminal court. It leads the investigation of offenses in collaboration with the police and other investigative bodies, and it is responsible for ensuring that court judgments are carried out. It operates as part of the judiciary, not as a ministry.

Nationally, the OM is organized into ten district offices aligned with the police, with a national unit focusing on international organized crime and a functional unit addressing environment, economy, and fraud. The College of Procurators General heads the national organization from The Hague, while political responsibility rests with the Minister of Security and Justice; a security breach was reported in July 2025.
