Opera North is a performing arts company based in Leeds, England, and is recognized as England's national opera company for the North and one of Europe’s leading arts organizations. It produces work of high quality that excites, challenges and entertains, and it collaborates with artists across media including film and visual art. The company’s Chorus and Orchestra perform both in staged productions and as independent ensembles, continually refreshing their approaches to music-making. This broader activity serves audiences with ambitious opera and related performances within the regional arts landscape. In 2024, Opera North saw Northern Ballet Limited announce a strategic partnership that would have its dancers perform alongside Opera North’s Orchestra. Earlier in the year, the company also launched the Little Listeners production of Cinderella, expanding engagement with families and younger audiences.
