ODS has a long history in compact disc manufacturing, with roots reaching back to the birth of CD technology in Japan in the early 1980s. Those roots go back to Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., who began producing CDs in 1982 in Gifu, Japan. In 1986, Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. formed subsidiary Sanyo Laser Products, Inc. to open a sister facility in Richmond, Indiana. The Richmond facility incorporated state of the art mastering and replication equipment for that time, and a strong commitment to quality that had earned the Gifu, Japan facility an excellent international reputation. Production began at the Richmond, Indiana facility in early 1987, and has continued uninterrupted to this day. During a 2005 restructuring by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., Sanyo Laser Products, Inc. was sold to former CFO Fred Austerman in a management buyout. A new company, Optical Disc Solutions, Inc. was formed, retaining all employees. Because of our strong financial performance over the past few years, ODS has been able to invest in the plant and add manufacturing equipment. During 2007, 2008 and 2009, equipment has been purchased for all phases of production from mastering to shipping. This continuing investment keeps ODS at the forefront of technological advances within the industry. Our two-plus decades of success are the result of our dedication to excellence. Although our name has changed several times, the people and philosophy have remained. As we continue into the future, we offer our experience and commitment to our customers to provide exceptional quality and service. ODS is also one of only a handful of CD replicators around the world that replicates 24kt gold CDs. A great option for custom runs, box sets, memorabilia, or anniversary recordings. Made with pure 24kt Gold, these discs have a higher reflectivity and lack any of the environmental issues that cause normal CDs to break down such as oxidation.
