OtoNexus Medical Technologies has developed a first-of-its-kind ultrasound-enabled otoscope designed to deliver objective, real-time data for diagnosing middle ear infections.

Middle ear infections are one of the most common reasons children visit a healthcare provider and receive antibiotics, yet today’s diagnostic tools remain largely subjective. Clinicians often rely on visual inspection of the eardrum, which can make it difficult to determine whether fluid is present and whether that fluid is likely bacterial or non-bacterial.

OtoNexus is working to change that.

Our patented through-air ultrasound technology is designed to detect middle-ear effusion and help differentiate bacterial from non-bacterial fluid behind the eardrum in seconds.
