Ovio, legally GNC-ALFA CJSC, is a telecommunications company founded in 2007 and based in Abovyan, Kotayk Province, Armenia. It provides internet access, fixed telephony, and television services. The network is fiber-optic based, covering about 80% of the territory of the Republic of Armenia and extending over 2,500 kilometers, and in 2012 it deployed fiber-to-the-home technology in 11 cities and began retail sales in five cities by December. The network connects to major regional terrestrial networks, large traffic-exchange nodes, and international channels with Iran and Georgia. Its corporate client base includes local banks and corporations, the Government of Armenia, state institutions, and international organizations.
