Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) is an oil and gas company based in Karachi, Pakistan, employing between 1,001 and 5,000 people. The company has been a pioneer in Pakistan's natural gas industry since the mid-1950s and remains a major supplier of natural gas, while also producing crude oil, NGL and LPG. PPL operates 12 producing fields across the country, including Sui, Pakistan’s largest gas field, and holds a working interest in 18 partner-operated fields. It manages a portfolio of 47 exploration assets, of which it operates 28, including one contract in Iraq, while 19 blocks—comprising offshore leases in Pakistan and onshore concessions in Yemen—are operated by joint venture partners. The company pursues an exploration strategy to replenish reserves and secure energy supply, with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications across its fields and facilities. PPL has a long-standing social responsibility program, dating to the establishment of Sui Model School in 1957 and the formation of the PPL Welfare Trust in 2001, focusing on education, health, infrastructure and livelihood support around operating areas.
