I am driven to create. I believe that even in the most horrific of instances one can still find the beauty. That is who I am. When I "see" an image in my head I become obsessed with capturing and molding it into one solitary frame of perfection.
As a portraiture photographer I take the time to get to know my subject. It is important to me that the images I capture are honest in their presentation of the true inner soul. The heartbeat that lurks behind the outer shell we create.
My wedding photography is different in that it combines two different styles, photojournalism or street photography and fine art. I document the occasion honestly as a true photojournalist. The difference is I choose specific images from the wedding and apply unique artistic touches. As if I am holding a paint brush or lead in my hand, only I now use the computer to create these images. It is not obvious to the average viewer but it can take hours to create one of these portraits. Because I am a traditionalist the artistic touches I apply to digital images are similar to what can be done in a wet darkroom.
I am inspired by WeeGee, James Nachtwey, Diane Arbus, Helmut Newton, Annie Leibowitz and Richard Avedon.
