The Park District of Oak Park is a mid-sized public park district serving Oak Park, Illinois. It owns and operates 23 facilities across 84 acres of parkland within the village, including neighborhood recreation centers, two outdoor pools, an indoor ice arena, a gymnastics center, an environmental education center, and several historic properties and parks. The district offers more than 3,000 recreation programs annually for people of all ages and abilities and is a member of the West Suburban Special Recreation Association. Its purpose emphasizes partnerships with the community to provide meaningful experiences through programs, parks, and facilities, guided by five strategic initiatives such as organizational excellence and financial strength. The district has earned state and national accreditation and, in 2015, received the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management; in 2026, it partnered with Voltpost and ComEd to install electric vehicle charging infrastructure at historic sites.
