Founded in 1987, Parkridge Private School has been in operation for more than 30 years. The Founders, Administrators, and Teachers have extensive experience in Education Alternatives, Curriculum Design, Instructional Delivery and Educational Administration. We offer three main programs:
"Project Diploma" offers adults an opportunity to complete their High School coursework and earn an accredited Diploma. The student gains the educational advantage necessary to enter today's workplace and/or their chosen vocational school or college program.
In our "Independent Study K-12 program", a student is guided by a teacher but does not spend the day at school on a regular basis or take classes with other students. The student receives direct, explicit instruction from their instructor, during a pre-set session time. They practice the new instruction while with their instructor and then finish the assignments independently at home. Upon returning to the instructor the following week, assignments and open book quizzes are turned in, a discussion of newly assigned material is conducted along with experiments, if applicable, and tests are administered.
Students who participate in this type of education program take the same courses as students in regular classes, graduate on time and find time to pursue outside interests and often advanced studies.
Our "Credit Recovery Program" allows high school students to make-up classes they either didn't pass or complete. Once they complete the coarse with us, the credit can be transferred back to their school of attendance. Or they may continue with our school in order to earn a high school diploma.
