Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota is an independent, member-supported nonprofit focused on Minnesota's state and regional parks and trails. Its mission is to acquire, protect, and enhance land for public use and benefit, aiming to create an interconnected system of parks, trails, waterways, natural areas, and open spaces that support outdoor recreation and biodiversity. Founded in 1954 and based in St. Paul, Minnesota, the organization collaborates with partners to advance conservation and public access to outdoor spaces. 

Since its inception, it has helped save more than 10,000 acres for parks and trails in Minnesota, including significant land at locations such as Afton, Grand Portage, and the Cannon Valley Trail. Recent activity includes a 2025 website launch and ongoing efforts to implement online donation forms, reflecting continued engagement with supporters and partners; the organization also began a grant program in 2019 to partner with friends groups to engage youth in parks and trails.
