PathProof is a breast specimen container specifically designed to facilitate the transport of breast specimens from the OR, through Radiology for imaging and to Pathology for microscopic analysis and long term storage. PathProof promotes worker safety by eliminating handling of breast specimens, as well as offering a cost-effective solution to hospitals - with only one device required throughout the entire process of transport, imaging, analysis and storage of tissue. The Patent-Pending compression plate enables stabilization as well as adjustable compression of the specimen. Alphanumeric grid lines allow for X-ray localization of lesions as well as easy needle placement, as indicated by institutional protocol. A translucent base unit allows for external visualization of specimens, and the water-tight lid prevents hazardous spills, allowing the device to serve as a long-term storage container in Pathology.
