Pawnee Buttes Seed is a Colorado-based, privately owned wholesale seed supplier that focuses on native and introduced grasses, forbs, and shrubs for reclamation, pasture, turf, and government programs such as the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).
The company was founded in 1998 by Don Hijar, who pursued the idea that a seed business should offer more than seed by pairing products with technical expertise and environmental knowledge.
Its staff is described as knowledgeable and dedicated to helping customers prepare, plant, establish, and manage their land.

Its market includes government programs like the CRP and other land-management initiatives that require seed for reclamation, pasture, and turf.
In July 2025, the company participated in an industry event, reflecting ongoing engagement with the field.
