The Peachtree Creek Greenway will run along the bank of North Fork Peachtree Creek in the northeast Atlanta metropolitan area. Although one cannot see it easily, this creek follows I-85 from Georgia 400 up to and beyond I-285.

North Fork Peachtree Creek, together with South Fork Peachtree Creek, join to become the Peachtree Creek which flows into the Chattahoochee River. The North Fork begins at the edge of Gwinnett County and flows 13.5 miles southwest through DeKalb County, almost perfectly parallel to Interstate 85. The South Fork begins in Tucker and flows 15.4 miles south through Clarkston and then west through Emory University.
