The Peninsula School of Art & Gallery (PenArt) is a nonprofit arts education and exhibition center in the heart Door County, Wisconsin. Founded in 1965 by visionary Chicago filmmaker and artist, Madeline Tripp Tourtelot, PenArt has been operating as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization since 1992. It has supported the creative growth of novice to advanced artists from across the country, made a tremendous impact on the creative health of the Door County community, and supported the careers of many established local, regional, and nationally known visual artists. Over the years PenArt has grown from a small local arts center into a staple and beloved destination for thousands of visitors and students, and hundreds of working artists on an annual basis.

PenArt’s goal is to foster a creative, inclusive, art-making community, providing access to quality education, and professionally equipped studios, as well as high-caliber exhibitions and engaging events for everyone. It promotes the joy and transformative power of art and actively supports individual creative growth and arts appreciation.
