PAWS is a nonprofit organization focused on the welfare of captive wildlife, including protections for performing animals and sanctuary for abused, abandoned, and retired wildlife. ARK 2000 currently houses elephants, lions, bears, and tigers. The organization was founded in 1984 by Pat Derby and Ed Stewart.
