The Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance) is a nonprofit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, formed by HIMSS to advance personal health beyond traditional clinical care. It seeks to make health and wellness an effortless part of daily life by uniting a broad coalition of stakeholders from technology, life sciences, government, academia, and related associations worldwide to realize the potential of personal connected health. It coordinates the global community through its Connected Health Conference, a forum for sharing research, evidence, ideas and innovations in personal connected health. It develops and promotes the Continua Design Guidelines, which the ITU recognizes as the international standard for secure data exchange between personal health devices. Its flagship Academy for Healthy Longevity advances efforts to promote lifelong health and wellness. In early 2021, the organization released an updated Continua Test Tool to help validate device conformance with the standard.
