Perth Symphony Orchestra is a Western Australian musical organization that collaborates with freelance musicians, arts practitioners, emerging talent, and the technical crew. Based in Claremont, it was founded in 2011 by Bourby Webster. The ensemble aims to expand the traditional role of the orchestra by activating diverse performance spaces and integrating genres, art forms, and communities to strengthen the connection between orchestral music and the wider public. Its programming seeks to reach audiences across Western Australia through collaborative projects and non-traditional venues. In 2023 the organization added two new directors to its board, Paul McQueen and Dominique Mecoy. It has pursued community-oriented initiatives such as the Women on the Podium Conducting Symposium and partnerships with local bodies, including Wanneroo and Brightwater Care Group.
