The PETER PILOTTO brand was co-founded by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos in 2006, who jointly served as the creative directors until its closure in 2020, due to the pandemic and other commercial pressures in the UK. The London-based brand used to be sold in over 50 countries, through 150 stockists including Net-a-Porter, Dover Street Market, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Selfridges. Pilotto and De Vos jointly oversaw all aspects of the business, including the development of four collections per year, which were prototyped at the in-house atelier and subsequently developed for production throughout Europe. All textiles were designed in London and developed with partners in Europe and Asia. Initially founded by Pilotto, De Vos joined the label in its fledgling years. The duo, who first met while studying at the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, hold a number of industry accolades and have been awarded NewGen sponsorship by the British Fashion Council, as well as being named winners of the Swarovski Emerging Talent award in 2010 and the Fashion Forward prize in 2011. BoF 500 members since 2013. And in 2014, they were awarded the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund. Pilotto and De Vos have undertaken a number of collaborations with brands, including the US retailer Target. In 2012, the duo was also invited to be guest designers at the prestigious Pitti W showcase in Florence. Both Pilotto and De Vos hold dual nationalities, being Austrian-Italian and Belgian-Peruvian respectively.
