PIAA, the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, is a United States–based governing body for interscholastic sports. Founded in 1913 in Pittsburgh, it serves member schools and registered officials by establishing policies and contest rules that foreground education, safety, sportsmanship, and uniform standards across middle school through high school levels. Through its collaborative approach with members, PIAA supports participation in interscholastic athletic programs on a fair and equitable basis, aiming to deliver educational benefits such as character development and interpersonal skills. Rooted in the spectator sports ecosystem, PIAA coordinates interscholastic athletics across Pennsylvania's schools and officials, upholding standardized competition and educational value. In December 2025, the association launched the PIAA Radio Network, a statewide audio platform to support its activities. The organization is mid-sized, with a workforce in the hundreds.
