Pioneer Foods is a large South African food and beverage company founded in 1997 and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange since 2008. It develops and distributes a broad portfolio of branded foods and drinks, including staples like WEET-BIX, Liqui-Fruit, Ceres, SASKO, Safari, Spekko, and White Star Super Maize Meal. The company operates through three divisions—Essential Foods, Groceries, and International—covering wheat and maize products, cereals and baking, dried fruit and juices, and export-oriented activities. Its customers include wholesale, retail, and informal trade channels in South Africa, with exports to more than 60 countries. Since 2020, Pioneer Foods has been part of PepsiCo, which holds the local licenses for two of its brands; the International division also oversees Bokomo Foods UK.
