The Problem We Solve
Porcelain and glass insulators in contaminated areas experience performance issues due to flashovers and other problems. Existing strategies to combat this problem include the application of silicone greases or RTV coatings to the insulators. Both methods tend to lose effectiveness when the insulator becomes highly contaminated, which requires that the insulators be cleaned and the coating re-applied. To date, the industry continues to search for an effective solution to the contamination problem.
