PAAR is a private nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1972 by the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Organization for Women in response to a series of rapes and growing public concern. The organization began as a grassroots Task Force on Sexual Assault formed to develop a comprehensive program addressing rape through research, treatment, and prevention.

Operating in the non-profit sector, PAAR serves the local community by addressing issues related to sexual violence and by supporting survivors through outreach and collaboration. It partners with a range of local organizations and venues to raise awareness and extend its impact, including collaborations with cafés and cultural groups. A recent development is a partnership with Commonplace Coffee Co. to release Survivor Blend, a year-long donation coffee supporting PAAR.
