The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, founded in 1996 by local residents concerned about the condition of the city's historic parks. Since 1998 it has partnered with the City of Pittsburgh in a public-private framework to restore four regional parks—Frick, Highland, Riverview, and Schenley. The organization coordinates park restoration and stewardship through thousands of volunteers annually, and has expanded into community and neighborhood parks as resources allow. Its mission is to improve quality of life for Pittsburgh residents by restoring the park system to excellence in partnership with government and the community, conducting projects with regard for environmental concerns, historic design, and the needs of a diverse region. In 2025 the Conservancy announced the next phase of accessibility improvements at the Frick Environmental Center, illustrating ongoing efforts to enhance access and experience across the park system.
