Plains Area Mental Health is a mental health care company based out of 180 10th St SE, Le Mars, IA 51031. In 1972, after years of planning and deliberation, the Plains Area Mental Health Center proudly opened its doors one day a week and began serving the residents of Plymouth County. During the first year, 166 patients were seen. Over the years, the organization has grown and changed in response to community needs across the region. Today, Plains Area Mental Health Center has offices in many locations across Northwest Iowa. Our staff includes trained and experienced doctors, nurses, counselors, therapists and support staff. We are proud of the many benefits and services we provide for people of all ages across the region. We have offices in Le Mars, Orange City, Cherokee, Ida Grove, Storm Lake, Carroll, Denison, Lake City, Sac City, Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg, and Rock Rapids. Our mission? To provide affordable quality mental health services to the people of the communities we serve, respecting each individual’s dignity, worth, and potential for growth.
