Planes Of Fame Air Museum is a California-based aviation museum that preserves and displays a large collection of historic aircraft, including many that are maintained in flyable condition. Established in 1957 and located at Chino Airport, the institution positions itself as a prominent destination for aircraft enthusiasts and visitors seeking direct, experiential engagement with aviation history. The museum serves a broad audience of enthusiasts, families, and researchers by offering a tangible connection to historic flight through its collection and live demonstrations. In addition to its Chino location, the organization is expanding to a new, 23-acre Central Coast Campus at Santa Maria Airport, signaling growth beyond its long-time home. The museum operates within the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos sector, and its size and scope reflect a mid-sized, community-oriented cultural institution with a focus on preservation and education.
