Based in Memphis, Tennessee, the Plough Center for Sterile Drug Delivery Systems is a longstanding facility focused on sterile drug manufacturing and related education. It originated as Parenteral Medications Laboratories and grew through a collaboration between The University of Tennessee and The Plough Foundation to support education, research, and development of sterile parenteral products. The center is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health and is one of the state's few facilities authorized to manufacture sterile drug products and to conduct related research; its laboratories support both academic instruction and sterile dosage form processing, with small-to-medium scale manufacturing capability and a planned large-scale plant that was under construction with completion anticipated for fall 2016.

The center offers a 40-hour instructional course featuring industry lectures and hands-on laboratory training in aseptic production, fill-finish, sterilization, quality testing, and environmental monitoring. In addition to education, it provides development and manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and government agencies such as the Department of Defense, serving as a platform for research and collaboration.
