Poolman officially opened its doors in 1964, with a vision of becoming the largest swimming pool service company in Arizona. The focus was an insatiable focus on customer service, something that didn’t exist in The Valley. By 1993, Poolman had over 1,200 customers and smaller companies wanted to join the Poolman team. Several acquisitions/partnerships took place throughout the years, and our customer first attitude was transferred to our growing account base of 2,500 in just a few short years. Poolman was and continues to be an innovator in the residential and commercial maintenance business, with the introduction of gas chlorine in 1993, which was shipped from California by rail, and the highly touted FREE Salt System program introduced in 2008. In April 2000, Poolman wanted to continue its expansion efforts and joined forces with American Pool Enterprises, Inc. which is the largest swimming pool management, maintenance company in North America. It was this partnership that allowed Poolman to take on our FREE Salt System initiative. By the summer of 2007 there were 5,500 customers on weekly service. In 2008, we entered San Diego, CA and in 2009 we entered Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas with the innovative FREE Salt System program. Poolman is looking forward to the future with expansion plans throughout the western United States.
