Portage County is a local government authority based in Stevens Point, central Wisconsin, responsible for administering county-level services. It covers 823 square miles and is governed by a County Executive along with a 25-member Board of Supervisors elected from one city, nine villages, and seventeen townships, with a 2014 population estimate of about 70,482 people. Stevens Point is the county seat, and the government serves Portage County residents. In April 2022, the county launched a new website to inform the public about an April referendum concerning the county's health care center.
