Portland Art Museum is a mid-sized cultural institution based in Portland, Oregon, founded in 1892, making it the seventh oldest museum in the United States and the oldest in the Pacific Northwest. Its galleries hold more than 42,000 objects displayed across 112,000 square feet, tracing art from ancient times to the present. The collection is notable for its holdings in Native North American art, English silver, and graphic arts, and the museum dedicates about 90 percent of its gallery space to the permanent collection.
