PALTmed, based in Columbia, Maryland, is a non-profit national medical society focused on clinicians practicing across the post-acute and long-term care continuum. It represents medical directors, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other practitioners working in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, home care, hospice, PACE, and related settings. As a national body dedicated to PALTC practice, it serves as a forum for professional collaboration and standards within this sector. PALTmed advances clinical excellence through education, advocacy, and professional development, including the Certified Medical Director credential and the Fellow of PALTmed designation. It houses JAMDA, the Journal of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, a peer-reviewed publication serving clinicians and leaders in PALTC. In 2024, PALTmed partnered with MultiView Inc. to support interdisciplinary teams across the post-acute and long-term care continuum.
