Postpartum Support International (PSI) was founded in 1987 by Jane Honikman to raise awareness about the emotional changes that accompany pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period among the public and professionals. It maintains a global network with volunteer coordinators in the United States and in more than 50 countries, and it distributes information and resources through its website, DVDs, and an annual conference. The organization also seeks to advance research and legislation to support perinatal mental health. Based in Portland, Oregon, PSI serves individuals and families affected by perinatal mood changes and supports professionals working in maternal mental health. In 2026, PSI announced a partnership with Momcozy to launch initiatives intended to expand access to support and encourage mothers to prioritize their own wellbeing.
