Practicing Attorneys for Law Students ("PALS") was founded in 1984 to improve the recruitment of minority law students by New York City’s major law firms. Its mission is to enhance the skills and careers of minority law students and early career attorneys, by offering customized mentoring, as well as educational and professional development opportunities. PALS offers its services free of charge.
Since its creation over 30 years ago, PALS has been recognized as the foremost organization supporting diversity in the law school pipeline in the New York City area. It is best known for its one-on-one mentor program which matches minority law students with volunteer lawyers who serve as mentors. PALS has a strong legacy and tradition of excellence. PALS succeeds each time one of its members achieves a personal victory or milestone in their legal career.
