Prelude to a Cure is a non-profit organization dedicated to lung cancer research, one note at a time. By connecting musicians, cancer research centers and hospitals, Prelude To A Cure hopes to assist in not only finding new screening methods to detect lung cancer before it spreads, but to help find a cure. Our donations to support the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer through research will surely make a difference in the many lives of those facing the challenges of cancer.Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in both men and women in the United States. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined. The five year survival rate for lung cancer is 16%–for smokers and non-smokers. With your help, we can break through the negative stigma of lung cancer. Lung cancer patients desperately need improved screening methods for early detection, more effective treatments and a cure. Sadly, non-smoking lung cancer patients also suffer the negative stigma and, as a result, the consequences of inadequate screening and treatments.
